In 1971 Rosemary became a charter member of the West Australian chapter of Zonta International. Zonta was primarily a volunteer organisation that believed “we all have an inherent responsibility to make a meaningful difference in our community.”
In 1972 a sub-committe was formed to help send two of its members to fly in an all-women’s air-race across the United States of America. These two members were Robin Miller and Rosemary de Pierres.
