The Flying Vicomtesse
The Vicomtesse Rosemary de Pierres was an ex-WRAN, farmer, aviator, mum, and damn good bush cook. She lived in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia and spent a large part of her life cooking meals and delicious desserts for shearers, farmers, and her family and friends.
Like many country women, she learned how to how to create tasty, hearty, nutritious food with a limited choice of ingredients. In this collection of her best recipes, you’ll get to enjoy a little bit of her magic.
You can read more about Rosemary in the Women’s Museum of Australia. You can also soak in some of her memoirs as captured by the State Library of WA.
Love you, Mum. Thanks for the cheesecake. x
